Our MissionSDC is a mechanical and electrical engineering firm committed to providing clients with personal and creative service. SDC personnel deliver a full range of technical services in the fields of mechanical, electrical, and lighting design analysis and implementation. Established in 1988, SDC has enjoyed steady growth over the years to reach our present size of 6 principals and 4 technical staff. SDC was part of the design team for American Honda Northwest Regional Distribution Facility, which has earned a Gold LEED rating from the United States Green Building Council - only the fourth building to receive this distinction. SDC's membership in the USGBC affords access to the latest information in sustainable design information and technologies as well as the most current information on the LEED Green Building Rating System. Successful Designs for New and Existing SpacesThe SDC team has successfully designed and implemented mechanical and electrical systems for new and existing large- and mid-sized medical, retail, office, educational, and industrial facilities, as well for hotels and apartment complexes. Recent new building projects range from large projects, such as a high-rise condominiums, to small projects, such the renovation of a historic lodge at Silver Falls State Park. SDC’s Personal Service Philosophy“Our philosophy of personal service means that every client who works with us has direct and immediate access to the principals in charge of the project,” states Gary Barnes, one of the founders of SDC. “Before we came together to form SDC, we all worked for much larger companies where clients often found it difficult to get direct answers from the principals, and were handed over to someone else working on the job. That will never happen at SDC. We see our smaller size as one of our primary strengths as a company. It means that the principals themselves can be attentive to all the details of a project in ways larger firms cannot.” The firm’s service credo has resulted in long-term working relationships and repeat business from many of our clients.
